We often want to hide the places we cultivate ourselves; the dark, the must, the moisture of our longings to be different. To change. We shut these caves away, embarrassed at the decay of our former selves. But that is not the same as birth, no, transformation does not come first. Do not mistake our places of creation for your labyrinths of ways to escape yourself; shade yourself from the light that is inside of you – that will come through, find its way out. I do not doubt that your pain feels insurmountable but that is not a reason to shame the place you were birthed from.
