Hi, thanks for joining me in my curiosity for the moon and its pull on our hearts and joints and pressures and aches and longings. Maybe it’s my Cancer Rising, but I’ve always felt a deep kinship with the moon. I’ve yearned to understand it for a long time, and through that have learned to acquiesce to it.

The point of these pondering’s and pandering’s is to find a way to surrender into what we’re experiencing. And it might be different for you than it is for me – it will show up in different areas of you chart and thus your life. I encourage you to look at your rising sign if you know it, as it will inform you of the houses in which these signs and energies lay and give you more context to where these musings will show up in your life. And if you’re like what the fuck Forest I did not come here to do work, then don’t worry about it. As all of this, it is an offered suggestion.

To get to the nitty gritty, New Moons are a time of planting seeds. We’ve fertilized the ground, gone through the winter of the waning moon and find ourselves in the sweet soil of Libra. Lets acknowledge that Libra is the “sign of the other” if you will, in opposition to Aries, the sign of the self. It’s about finding and bringing balance to what we give and receive. To where we give and receive. I like to think of this time as a garden, knowing that a garden can start with one singular seed. And maybe some bird shit, as unpleasant as it is, brings more variety over time. And maybe it takes many years to build up a garden into wild fruition. And maybe, eventually, our own plantings get scattered across the lands as well. My point here is, we need to plant what we need first. It is not selfish to see and honour what we have to honour, and this brings me around to my favourite understanding of karma.

We do not bear the fruit of all the seeds we plant. Often, we move along the path not returning to those places – but someone will bear it. So instead of planting for ourselves entirely, we plant knowing it may land in someone else’s hand and hope that the same care has been given to other seeds planted who’s fruit we will bear. Karma is collective care, knowing that often how we care for ourselves refracts out to those around us. Do not save your best seed until it will no longer sprout – and do not plant your worst, thinking you will be the only one to bear it.

What is it you want to cultivate?
Who do you need to be in order to do that?
Is there a small thing you can do now, every day, to care for this cultivation?
Are you willing to sacrifice the fear that it will not grow, understanding that that fear is just as legitimate if you do not plant it?
How can you do this for yourself only? Can you keep the secrets of your desires in the warm sun of your affection until they are ready to be brought into and shared with the world?

Take the pressure off yourself.

Scorpio in Waxing Crescent allows us to go into the cave in our heart to set our intentions. Make a poultice for the wounded places. Make an elixir for the places we wish to soar to. Accompany yourself here into the darkness and make friends with the strange quiet and peace that arises from the stillness of surrender. Yes, we die here. And also we are resurrected here too. All that is not meant to will become the soil and that which is still calling to us will plant itself deeply into our hearts to rise when it is perfect to arise.

Sunday in Sagittarius, we seek to aim ourselves towards the light that illuminates the opening to this cave. As we find our peace and surrender for what may be and what is to come, may we also find the joy that warms our skin. Look at the symbols on the walls of yourself. Read the messages in the birds in the sky. Listen to the songs on the wind as they bring you small reminders. Study them in the privacy of yourself and let the knowledge alchemize into change. Slowly. As a smile creeps first into your eyes, may the same be true of this sensation of knowing. Nearly imperceptible to those who do not know how to see – glaringly obvious to those that are willing to.

Tuesday in Capricorn we build the necessary foundations. Feeding the body, feeding the soul, getting very clear about the intentions behind the blueprints and letting any found flaws be discoveries not tragedies. How can what does not work, make way for something ingenious? The First Quarter comes on Wednesday which signals it is time to make decisions and take action. This doesn’t need to be heavy. It is gentle, like the wind blowing leaves to the places the nutrients is most needed. Allow yourself to float on your notions towards places of small action.

Thursday in Aquarius is for refinement. Stand on the ledge of the pin point in the universe. See the many places knowledge flows to, and then search for where in you in flows from. Hold yourself under its stream and allow that which is not pure of heart be washed away. Let the resentments, the fatigue, and the musts be stroked off your skin by the waters of wisdom. Let yourself surrender to knowing instead of grasping for knowledge. Here, you find knowing without logic. Find a way to validate the yes’s and no’s of the body over the mind; to harmonize them. What can you believe in that allows you to surrender control? What can you believe in that allows you to be the river instead of the bank?

Saturday in Pisces, our dreams come into further clarity. Whether they be night or day dreams, there is a message for you here. There is a deep knowing that we get to when we allow ourselves to surrender in Aquarius – instead of asking how or why, we let ourselves be the who that does not need those answers to exist. Pisces finds life through embracing death – death of the musts and should’s and cannot’s and holds is gently in the swaying arms of “what if?”. A what if that rocks us gently into submission, knowing we are safe in the currents this way than fighting against them. Taking us to the edge of the world so we can see where we have stopped believing and get curious about what believing more would mean.

Monday in Aries allows us to take the expansion of Pisces and find the self that can allow these changes. The self that wants to wander freely, that want’s to be unstuck of burdens of becoming, that wants to roam tenderly and run quickly and familiarize themselves with all that is truly possible in a new land as a new being. It is not enough here just to wonder, we must be. What can you allow yourself to be? Where does this being take you?

The Full Moon peaks on Wednesday evening in Aries, falling into Taurus shortly after. Here we seal the intention – seeing that the seeds we carry grow best in this expansion of possibility. Put your nose to the ground, allow your instincts to carry you and don’t be swayed by the foolish mind that wants to rub the scent of reason on paths that lead us back to known territory. You will find your way back. The seeds will not be lost. Your footprints becoming a monument along the path, a lasting reminder of where you have been, where you are welcome and where you may stay.

Be lulled by the beauty of your deepest wants in this time. Allow the world to surrender to your most whimsical yearnings and know that where the ground opens up is not a threat to swallow you, but an invitation to hold you.

All my love,
xo,
Fo
